SVB Go - Cards Pod
Role: Product Designer
I owned the full design lifecycle for this initiative, from research and ideation through to high-fidelity design and cross-functional alignment.
How We Validated Our Decisions
- Interviewed commercial clients and SVB relationship managers to surface key friction points
- Conducted usability testing on early card setup flows with target users
- Collaborated with QA and engineering to conduct pre-release UAT
- Validated dashboard widget variations via A/B testing, using behavioral data to optimize layout, content hierarchy, and discoverability
- Reviewed edge cases with compliance and fraud teams to ensure UX met legal and security standards
My Contribution
- Designed end-to-end flows for ordering, assigning, and managing company credit cards
- Created low-to-high fidelity wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma
- Designed the card dashboard widget, iterating based on A/B test results and user insights
- Facilitated pre-development UX reviews to reduce rework and speed up delivery
- Collaborated closely with PMs to scope and prioritize key features like card ordering, limit setting, and user roles
- Helped ensure visual and interaction consistency across the broader SVB Go design system
The Cards Pod focused on improving the credit card experience for SVB Go’s business clients, including startup founders, finance admins, and treasury teams. These users needed a seamless way to order, manage, and monitor company credit cards. However, the existing flow was fragmented, unintuitive, and lacked visibility. Tasks like assigning limits, viewing spend, and tracking active cards required too many steps and often led to support escalations.
